Red Cross surveys storm damage

Damage assessment teams from the American Red Cross are fanning out acrosscentral and southern Iowa this morning, looking over the destruction done byas many as a dozen tornadoes yesterday afternoon.Carol Grant is Executive Director of the agency’s Central Iowa Chapter. Shesays the assessment teams will only be looking over residences.One state official estimates the damage statewide will exceed eight-milliondollars. Grant says it’s fortunate there were so few injuries and no deaths.Grant says people who’ve had storm damage and need help should call theirnearest Red Cross agency.
