The 73-year-old Senator at the center of controversy over a Thursday nightskuffle with another Senator has apologized. Senator John Jensen, a republican from Plainfield, addressed his colleaguesfrom his desk on the Senate floor. Jensen smacked Senator Dennis Black inthe shoulder because Black had called him a liar. Jensen said his actionswere out-of-sorts and not right. His voice quivering with emotion, Jensenasked for the Senate’s forgiveness. Senate Republican Leader StewartIverson encouraged Senators to watch what they say and do, as tempers canflare during debate.After Jensen’s apology Black walked over to Jensen and the two men shookhands and hugged.
