People across the state are learning about the 77th annual VEISHEAcelebration at Iowa State University through the VEISHEA Voyage. Studentsare running through dozens of communities carrying a torch that’ll be usedin the festival’s opening ceremonies. Voyage organizer Matt Rain says thetrip has special meaning for I-S-U.VEISHEA activities are already underway with the big kickoff on Friday. Rainsays the laying out of this year’s Voyage route was no big deal.Local businesses & towns are also offering to help by offering policeescorts for the runners. After trekking through northeastern Iowa today, theVoyage is due in Strawberry Point this afternoon.
