Ornish talks about heart health

The man who created a health program credited with turning around the livesof thousands of heart patients leads a free seminar in Des Moines tonight.Dr. Dean Ornish , namesake of the Ornish Program, says good hearthealth depends on the healing power of love, intimacy & relationships.The Iowa Heart Center in Des Moines is among only nine medical centers inthe U-S that offer the Ornish Program. Dr. Ornish says too often peoplemistakenly associate medical advances with a new surgical technique or arevolutionary drug.Ornish says his seminar tonight is called “Opening Your Heart.” He says itdesigned for people with heart disease, but he says everyone can benefitfrom putting the advice he offers into practice.Ornish says heart health is NOT based only on diet or drugs, but also in howa person handles stress, frequency of exercise & the quality of theirrelationships.
