Holiday traffic death toll below average

A spokesman with the Iowa Department of Transportation says three Iowanswere killed in traffic accidents during the Memorial Day holiday weekend.Scott Falb compiles the statistics involving traffic accidents and deaths.He says the state has an average of four fatalies during the 1990’s.Falb says there was just one fatality last year. He says things might havebeen worse this year if not for seatbelts which saved four lives.The state has focused on getting drivers to buckle up whenever they hit theroad and Falb says this is an indication that campaign is working.
