Hawks land another recruit

Des Moines Christian senior-to-be Sean Sonderleiter madeit official today, announcing he intends to sign to play basketball at theUniversity of Iowa. The 6-9 center helped lead Des Moines Christian to arunner-up finish at the class 1-A state tournament last March.Sonderleiter chose Iowa over Iowa State and Drake.Sonderleiter says he fully intended to make his college choice this summer.Sonderleiter becomes the second senior-to-be to committ to Iowa andcontinues a recent trend in which more and more high school players areearning scholarships. Mike Swaim coached Des Moines Christian this pastseason and he says the top players in Iowa have more opportunities to work ontheir game.And Swaim says that additional summer contact with players has allowed themto work on their game.
