Judge grants injunction against Racing and Gaming Commission

A judge has granted a temporary injunction to keep credit card cash-loanmachines in Iowa casinos. Casino operators and machine manufacturers askedfor the injunction to keep the Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission fromenforcing a new rule banning the machines. The commission voted last monthto set July 1st as the date to remove the machines to give the court time torule on the issue. The Polk County district court ruling keeps the machinesactive until a hearing on a permanent injunction. An attorney for the Racingand Gaming Commission says a date hasn’t been set for the next hearing.
