Dubuque killing raises questions about railroad killer

A double murder across the river from Dubuque, Iowa in Jo Davies County,Illinois drew some national attention Tuesday as a possible link to therailroad serial killer. Jo Davies County Sheriff Steve Allendorf says23-year old Darrin Oellerich and 25-year old Rhonda Wurm were found shot todeath Sunday in a rural Apple River home. Apple River is about 20 miles eastof Dubuque. Allendorf originally said Rafael Resendez-Ramirez, the man theFBI says is a serial killer, was a suspect in the case. Allendorf later saidResendez-Ramirez had been ruled out as the murder. The FBI has addedResendez-Ramirez to its ten most wanted list. The FBI says Resendez-Ramireztravels by freight train. He’s most recently charged in the deaths of twopeople in Illinois and is linked to five Texas murders and one in Kentucky.
