Boswell signs on to patients rights bill

Congressman Leonard Boswell has signed onto an effort to force a vote inCongress on a “Patients’ Bill of Rights.”Recently, House Republican leaders plan to offer patient protections in aseries of bills rather than one, comprehensive act. Boswell favors thecomprehensive approach. He says it guarantees basic rights to health careconsumers. Boswell charges that republican-crafted patient protectionlegislation is designed to help the managed care industry.
