Vilsack says ad makes unwarranted attack

Governor Vilsack is reacting to a new advertisement sponsored by supportersof two amendments to Iowa’s constitution. In the ad, Vilsack is criticizedfor approving a state budget that grew four-times the rate of inflation. Vilasack said the budget made some hard choices that will help Iowa’sschools.Vilsack is an opponent of the amendments which would limit legislators’taxing and spending authority. He says amendment backers may have made amistake when they scheduled the election for June 29th. Vilsack says backersare sensing a low turnout might turn against them.Vilsack has already voted, by absentee ballot.
