Program looks for small changes in health

The Iowa Department of Public Health is trying to get Iowans to make somesmall changes in lifestyle — hoping they’ll add up to big changes in health.Health department fitness consultant Tim Lane says the program is called “99in 99″The health department will give you a log with spots depicting Iowa’s 99counties so you can keep track of the healthy things you do. Lane says theidea is to get into the habit of doing little things that keep you healthy.Lane says you’ll get a certificate from the health department when youcomplete the 99 days. He says there are also several prizes available forthose who participate.Lane says you can sign up for the “99 in 99” program by calling1-800-247-8614.
