Group meets on "Food Capital" plan

Governor Vilsack met with leaders of Iowa’s agricultural sector today tochart a course for making Iowa the “Food Capital of the World.” As you mayrecall, Vilsack made the “Food Capital” idea a cornerstone of his campaignfor office. Iowa Farm Bureau President Ed Weiderstein (weed-er-steen)attended today’s meeting.Weiderstein says the initiative will hopefully create high-tech researchjobs and other benefits beyond the farm.After the meeting, Vilsack said Iowans need to pressure presidentialcandidates to offer specific solutions to bolstering the farm economy.
