Loess Hills exhbit opens

Iowa Senators Chuck Grassley & Tom Harkin opened an art exhibit in the U-SCapitol this morning featuring paintings & photographs of western Iowa’sLoess Hills. Grassley says it’s a beautiful collection to showcase the Iowatreasure, nestled along the Missouri River basin.The 25 works are all done by Iowa or Nebraska artists & photographers and itends an international tour for the art collection. The Loess Hills wereformed by ancient glaciers and hundreds of centuries of westerly winds.Grassley says the art collection is a great way to further promote Iowa’snatural beauty.Grassley & Harkin offered a bill that calls for the study of the Loess Hillsas a potential new National Park or some similar designation. Thelegislation passed on July first.
