Burlington man receives French honor

In a ceremony in eastern Iowa tomorrow, a Burlington man will receive thehighest tribute from the nation of France — the Legion of Honor Medal. Iowa100-year-old Jesse Folk faught in France during World War One. Veterans’Affairs spokesman Jack Hackett says the honor is given to very few people.Hackett says he’s the 10th Iowan to receive the medal.More than 114-thousand Iowans served in what was then called the Great War.Fewer than 100 of those veterans are still alive.
