Meeting seeks to help soybean growers

The continued abysmal prices Iowa farmers are getting for their commoditieshas prompted a statewide videoconference next month. The summit is beinghosted by the Iowa Soybean Association, where Kirk Leeds is executivedirector.The meeting will originate at Iowa Public T-V in Johnston and be broadcastto 19 remote locations over the Iowa Communications Network. Leeds says thefocus of the meeting is told in the title — “Maximize profit on Loan RateSoybeans and Corn”.The August 25th conference will run from 9 to noon and is free & open toanyone. Leeds says a line-up of speakers will help producers get the mostmoney out of marketing, government programs and crop insurance.The conference will be beamed to the following cities over the I-C-N:Atlantic, Burlington, Carroll, Cedar Rapids, Creston, Davenport, Dubuque,Fort Dodge, Iowa City, Iowa Falls, Marshalltown, Mason City, Oelwein,Ottumwa, Sheldon, Shenandoah, Spencer, Storm Lake & Waterloo.
