For a welcome change of pace, the cost of homeowners insurance is FALLINGfor tens of thousands of Iowans.State Farm, the state’s leading insurer of homes, is cutting its rates justover three percent for the average policyholder.State Farm spokesman Mark Yontz says the reductions will vary based onfactors like the location, type and age of the home, the type of roof & thenumber of claims filed. Yontz explain why rates are going down.The new rates take effect September 1st for current policyholders and Julyfirst for new clients. State Farm has 152-thousand homeowners policies in theHawkeye State.
