Carlisle ready for state tourney after 21-year wait

Carlisle has waited 21-years to get back to the state high school baseballtournament. The Wildcats last made the tournament field back in 1978 andwill take a number three ranking into Wednesday’s 2A opener in Marshalltownagainst Mount Vernon. Carlisle coach Gary Baker says a trip to thetournament has been a long-time goal of the players.Mount Vernon is 24-18 but Baker says having won the state title two yearsago they know the Mustangs are a tough first round draw.Baker says the 2A field is a good one.
