Private colleges and universities open doors this week

Iowa’s private colleges and universities are putting out the welcome mat thenext five days in the first Iowa Private College Week.Kathleen Gannon is the spokesperson for the Iowa Association of IndependentColleges and Universities. She says each of the institutions will follow asimilar format providing an open look at the campuses. Gannon says the competition from out-of-state schools led to cooperationamong Iowa colleges that are normally rivals.Any student who visits an Iowa college this week will get a special passportthat gives them a chance to save some money.Gannon says this is a great opportunity for students to see what the privatecolleges and universities have to offer.
