The top republican in the Iowa legislature is questioning the pricingdecisions of some central Iowa gas station owners. House Speaker BrentSiegrist of Council Bluffs says corn-based ethanol is priced much higher inthe Des Moines market than it is in western Iowa.Siegrist says one Amoco station in Des Moines priced ethanol ten-centshigher than regular unleaded.Siegrist says ethanol is usually cheaper or at least the same price asregular unleaded because the federal and state taxes on ethanol fuel arereduced.
