Grinnell looks for another conference title in football

The Grinnell College football team will be in search of a second straightMidwest Conference title this fall. The Pioneers were 10-0 last season andcoach Greg Wallace enters his 12th season at the helm with plenty ofoptimism. One of the reasons is the return of quarterback Troy Doughertywho led the N-C-A-A in passing in 98.Wallace says a solid group of newcomers should help.Wallace says while the offense will be heavy with new faces the defense isexperienced.The Pioneers will open the season September 11th in California when theyplay Claremont-Mudd Scripps College.
