Senator Harkin endorses Gore for president

Senator Tom Harkin has endorsed Vice President Al Gore’s bid for the democratparty’s next presidential nomination. Harkin’s endorsement speech was madethis morning in a Des Moines city park.Gore thanked Harkin for the endorsement, then delivered a half-hour speechwhich focused on labor issues.A new poll shows Gore’s democrat challenger, Bill Bradley, running nearlyneck-in-neck with Gore in New Hampshire.
