Small producers use web to sell products

Small, independent producers in Iowa are using the World Wide Web to bandtogether and sell their commodities to a global market. More than 20 Iowaproducers are advertising their specialty items on one website — withproducts ranging from bacon, ham and buffalo to bratwurst, salsa and honey.Katie Nosbisch is running the “Iowa’s Pantry” website from Decorah. Shesays several Iowa producers had approached her to sell various items butmost producers, being small, couldn’t afford to do it alone.She says the products now number more than 200 and are from growers in allcorners of Iowa.
