Iowa State coach Dan McCarney is concerned about some injuries as theCyclones get set to host 15th ranked Kansas State in their Big-12 opener.McCarney says three starters will be out of action this weekend, Ben Brunsat center, Ryan Harklau at nose guard and cornerback Jamarcus Powers.McCarney says while the injuries are troubling, reserves must fill in andget the job done.McCarney says while pleased with the start, the Cyclones must take it up anotch this week. McCarney says the conference race will show just how muchprogress has been made.Kansas State coach Bill Snyder says the Wildcats face a tough Big-12 openerin Ames.Snyder says the Wildcats will go to work on tackling fundamentals this weekto try and slow down Darren Davis.Snyder worked with McCarney on the Iowa staff during the 1980’s and says hewas always impressed with the way McCarney was able to motivate players.
