Pork producers launch new fast food sandwich

The National Pork Producers Council says another product is being introducedon the menu of a national fast-food chain which hopefully will increasedemand for pork. Hardee’s starts serving a pork chop sandwich and pork chopbreakfast biscuit in its 23-hundred stores this month. Barb Detterman is a vice president with the National Pork Producers andruns a pork operation in Early, Iowa. Detterman says the sandwich will beavailable in Iowa and 33 other states.She says there’s the prospect of selling 10-million of the four-ouncesandwiches in November and December. Detterman says it has taken a long timeto get this product to your drive-through window.Hardee’s is the fourth largest fast-food chain in the United States.
