Boone County officials make big drug bust

The Boone County Sheriff’s Department seized 61 pounds of marijuana, 29-thousand dollars in cash and two vehicles in a drug bust in the northern part of the county Friday. Sherriff Ron Fehr believes they intercepted a major drug pipeline into the state.Fehr says 23-year old Crescencio Rodriquez Junior of Progresso, Texas was arrested in the case. He says the arrest is encouraging, but he knows there’s more drugs out there.Fehr says the Central Iowa Drug Task Force and Texas authorities are helping in the continuing investigation of the case.
