Iowa comes from behind to down UNI

The Iowa Hawkeyes erased a ten point second half defict to down Northern Iowa 67-59 in the UNI-Dome Tuesday night. The bench was the key for Iowa. Rod Thompson had a career-high 15 points on five of five shooting and Ryan Luehrsmann had ten points on four of four shooting.The Hawks outscored the Panthers 29-12 in the last ten minutes of the game.Iowa coach Steve Alford gave credit to the defensive effort of Jason Price who held U-N-I’s Robbie Sieverding to two second half points after he posted 11 in the opening half.U-N-I coach Sam Weaver says the Hawkeyes just took control down the stretch.Weaver says the Panthers made too many mistakes in the second half when they got into foul trouble.Weaver says Iowa’s defense in the second half turned the game around.
