Cedar Rapids hockey team hopes to come home soon

December 15, 1999 By admin

The Cedar Rapids Roughriders of the United States Hockey League announced today that their home opener has been pushed back to January 8th. The team was to have opened its home slate on New Years Eve but the new arena under construction will not be completed. The Roughriders have played the entire first half of their schedule on the road and not suprisingly have struggled to a 5-17 record.Cedar Rapids coach Mark Carlson says his team is getting tired of seeing the inside of a bus.The good news is that the Roughriders will be at home nearly the entire second half of the season.
