Gore tries to get into campaign finance reform spotlight

Vice President Al Gore is touting his own campaign finance reform suggestions as two rivals for the presidency meet tonight in New Hampshire to discuss the issue. During a telephone conference with Iowa reporters, Gore said he has long sought to make revisions in the way campaigns are conducted.Tonight in New Hampshire, Arizona Senator John McCain and former New Jersey Senator Bill Bradley share the same stage, a rare bi-partisan appearance in the presidential campaign. McCain and Bradley advocate an end to “soft money” contributions to political parties which find individuals and industries writing checks for unlimited amounts.Gore’s in Nashville today, calling for additional federal investments in the nation’s schools.
