Young Iowans optimistic about the future

January 3, 2000 By admin

An unscientific survey of some of Iowa’s young people shows they’re optimistic about the century ahead. Iowa State University students in Nancy Miller’s textiles and clothing class surveyed fellow students on their attitudes about the future. Miller says the students believe they have a bright future ahead.Miller says the student’s optimism goes against stereotypes the “Generation X’ers” have no faith in the government and the future. She believes the good economic times in Iowa and the country are the reason for the optimism.Miller says the number of students surveyed was only 260, but she says it does give a view of the optimism among Iowa’s young people.
