The Iowa Lottery office has been buzzing this week as Iowans have been raking in the prizes. Lottery spokesperson Mary Neubauer says there was a winner in each of the four computer lottery games — making it the winningest week in lottery history. It’s also been a record week for the amount of money given away. A Sabula family picked up 16-million dollars Wednesday, their take from winning a state-record 32-million dollar “Powerball” jackpot. It was only the third time an Iowan had won the powerball prize. Neubauer doesn’t have any explanation for the run of lucky Iowans. She says big wins often create more sales at the outlet where tickets are sold. She says that appears to be the case following the powerball win in Sabula.Ed Ring of Iowa City turned in the winning “Cash 4 Life” ticket Thursday. Ring, who is 46, will get one-thousand dollars a week for the rest of his life.
