ISU to build three-million dollar plant sciences "co-lab"

Iowa State University plans to build what it calls a co-laboratory in its new Plant Sciences Institute. Institute director Colin Scanes says they’ll build the facility with a three-million dollar donation from the Roy J. Carver Trust. A co-laboratory is a combination of the words collaboration and laboratory, because that’s what the facility will be.It will focus on plant sciences and have faculty and industry scientist working together. Scanes says the co-lab will have a business incubator that will provide a lot of opportunities to students.Scanes says the facility will create several new jobs for the state.
