Airline pulling out of Sioux City

The airline that provides direct flights from Sioux City to St. Louis says it will pull out of the Sioux Gateway Airport on March 2nd. Trans World Express spokesman William Mishk says the move is part of a reorganization of the airline’s routes.T-W-E makes three flights a day from Sioux City to St. Louis. Sioux City Mayor Marty Dougherty says city officials are trying to find a replacement.Dougherty says they are also looking into connecting service to St. Louis.Dougherty says the flights to St. Louis make up 10 to 15-percent of Sioux Gateway’s passengers. T-W-E employs five full-time people and a few part-timers in Sioux City. The airline says they’ll be offered other jobs when the airline pulls out.
