The Drake womens’ basketball team beat Indiana State 69-66 in the Missouri Valley Conference tournament and advanced to face U-N-I tonight. The Panthers beat Wichita State 62-50 in their tournament opener. The win over Wichita State was U-N-I’s first post-season Missouri Valley Conference tournament win. Allison Star had a “double-double”: 16 points and 10 rebounds. U-N-I got whalloped by Drake last weekend 87-46.Star has 27 career “double-doubles” and leads U-N-I into the next fight with Drake. Star thought the emotional wins over Southwest Missouri State and Wichita State would be the peaks before this tournament victory.U-N-I is 15-12, Drake is 21-6. Gametime is 6 p-m.
