A Pocahontas man led authorities from Canada, Minnesota and the U-S Border Patrol on a chase that ended in a standoff. The chase began in Canada Sunday where the Royal Canadian Mounted Police attempted to stop 22-year old Jefferey Roberts of Pocahontas for allegedly driving a stolen pickup. The chase made its way across the border into Minnesota where police used “stop sticks” to blow out the tires of the truck. Police say Roberts had a fake rifle in the truck and admitted he thought about pointing it at the officers so they would shoot him. Roberts was taken into custody without any shots being fired and has been admitted to the psychiatric unit of a Minnesota hospital. Police says Roberts stole the pickup in Iowa and has warrants out for his arrest from at least two counties.
