As OPEC nations continue meeting today to determine if they’ll raise oil production levels, Senator Chuck Grassley thinks a clear message has been sent to the oil barons. The Iowa republican says the high gasoline prices are hurting the world economy and may bring inflation. Some members of Congress suggest cutting off 415-million dollars in aid to OPEC nations — in addition to ending arms sales. Grassley says the U-S cannot stand by and let OPEC strangle our economy. He says OPEC nations will have to realize they need to raise production levels, and Americans will have to accept that gas prices are going to stay a little higher.Grassley says there should be a happy medium reached in gas prices, perhaps between a dollar-15 and a dollar-25 a gallon, that would enable OPEC and the U-S consumers to be better off.
