Relays offer races for weekend athletes

Next month’s Drake Relays will offer two different road races for the competitive and recreational runner. Relays spokesman Cal Murdock says the half-marathon expects to have more than 500 runners while the eight-K will include a field of more than 800. Murdock says the road races are the only events that allow recreational runners to take part in the Relays.Murdock says interested runners can actually sign-up for the events on the web at www.fitnesssports,com.Murdock says the road races draw runners from outside the state of Iowa.Both races are Saturday morning, April 29th.
