Hawkeyes and Cyclones meet on the diamond today

Iowa and Iowa State matchup in college baseball action this afternoon. Iowa coach Scott Broghamer says the rivalry is present no matter what the sport.Broghamer says the game creates interest that normally is not present for college baseball. He says fans will check to see who won.Iowa State coach Lyle Smith says it’s not a normal non-conference matchup. He says the baseball team has beaten Iowa more than any other university team. Smith says fans would be interested if they were playing water polo because of the rivalry.
