Today is a sort of holiday for star-gazers. This is Astronomy Day 2000 and the event is being marked with a host of space-related activities at the Science Center of Iowa in Des Moines.Christian Anderson is the Science Center’s planetarium educator and says some of the events include making solar system mobiles, looking at the sun through a special viewer, and a demonstration on how to build a telescope.Anderson says interest in space grows every year.Today’s events run from noon until 4 p-m.
