Fizer says he’ll give up his last year as a Cyclone for the NBA

April 11, 2000 By admin

It has been rumored for weeks and Monday, Iowa State All-American Marcus Fizer made it official announcing he will forgo his senior season to enter the NBA draft. Fizer says Cyclone coach Larry Eustachy told him the time was right to enter the draft. Fizer has not hired an agent yet and said he could return if he does not get drafted high enough. That appears unlikely as Fizer is projected as a high draft pick. Cyclone coach Larry Eustachy called him a lottery pick. Fizer was named the big 12 player of the year in leading the Cyclones to the Big 12 regular season and tournament titles as well as an appearance in the “Elite Eight” of the NCAA Tournament.
