A peaceful protest is planned outside the main Des Moines Post Office today since federal tax returns are due to be postmarked by midnight. The leader of the Iowa chapter of the National Federation of Independent Business says the tax code is very unfair and places a huge burden on all of us.Dave Brasher is state director of the Federation. He says members of his group will be carrying picket signs, displaying banners and handing out brochures which push for comprehensive tax reform and simplification.Brasher says the U-S tax code is beyond repair and should be replaced with something that’s more fair and easier to understand.The demonstration today in Des Moines is one of 20 nationwide being conducted by the Federation.
