Iowa pharmacies go on-line

May 12, 2000 By admin

Seventy-five Iowa pharmacies have signed up with an Internet business so they can dispense prescriptions from “web orders.” Iowa Pharmacy Association president John Forbes is one of the pharmacists who’ll be available via “cornerdrugstore-dot-com” (cornerdrugstore.com)Forbes says in addition to prescriptions, he’ll take orders for over-the-counter meds on-line. Forbes says there are some restrictions to ensure prescriptions aren’t abused or illegally obtained. Forbes says it’s too expensive for small pharmacies to spend the coin to issue prescriptions and offer advice on-line. He owns and operates a pharmacy in Urbandale.
