Charges filed against truck driver in NE Iowa

May 26, 2000 By admin

State officials have filed nine charges against a northeast Iowa truck driver involved in a fatal crash. 33-year old Michael Wasowicz was driving the semi and spraying a chemical on a country road near Ely last Friday. The truck collided with a car killing two teenagers and injuring two others. State officials have charged Wascowicz with operating an overweight vehicle, having bad brakes, and not having other required information in the truck. Wasowicz could still face charges from Linn County authorities in connection with the two deaths.
