Election turnout follows predicted trend

Turnout is described as “light” and even “pitiful” in today’s primary election. Black Hawk County Auditor Grant Veeder says turnout in the Waterloo area is very light. He says through 10 o’clock this morning they had one-point-two percent turnout.Pottawattamie County Auditor Marilyn Jo Drake says turnout in the Council Bluffs area is “pitiful,” and may be a record low turnout.Linn County Auditor Linda Langenberg says very few voters are participating in today’s contest. She says she’s looking for about 8,000 to turnout and it looks like they’re on target.The polls opened at seven this morning and will close at nine tonight.
