Lansing baseball team scores high

June 16, 2000 By admin

There has been a lot of debate about the number of high scoring games in Major League baseball this season. Lansing Kee High has carried that trend to the high school ranks. The Keehawks have scored runs in bunches enroute to taking over as the new class 1A top ranked team this week in the Radio Iowa/Coaches poll. The club is averaging over 10-runs per game so far, but Kee High coach Gene Schultz says his team’s pitching will need to improve as the season progresses. Schultz says the players came back motivated after suffering through a rare down season last year. On Thursday night, Lansing Kee High beat North Winneshiek 16 to 1.
