Iowa receives airline slots in Washington, D.C.

A low-cost airline will be able to offer direct flights from Iowa’s capital to the nation’s capital. Midwest Express is getting two “slots” at Reagan National Airport in Washington, D-C. Governor Tom Vilsack made the announcement this morning.Midwest Express will probably begin offering the Des Moines-to-D-C route in October. Midwest Express began offering a Des Moines to New York flight, with a stop-over in Indianapolis, last month.
