Father agrees to plea agreement in son’s death

A child abuse case in northwest Iowa was settled today. 22-year-old James Boldra of Le Mars pled guilty today to three charges in the death of his six-week old son Trevor. Boldra admitted to shaking his son on February 13th. The boy later died in a Sioux Falls hospital. Boldra pled guilty to attempted murder, voluntary manslaughter and child endangerment. He had been charged with first-degree murder. Boldra will be sentenced September 25th. He faces a maximum penalty of 45 years in prison.
