The U-S Postal Service is delivering high technology at the Iowa State Fair. Its exhibit features what’s called the C-S-B-C-S — that’s short for the Carrier Sequence Bar Code Sorter — a high-speed machine that helps zip up the delivery of our mail.Mary Berardi is customer relations coordinator for the Des Moines Post Office. She says the 30-foot-long contraption is an interesting sight to behold and watch work. There will be two demonstrations of the machine every hour.Free, commemorative souvenir postcards will list the various postal websites and will be postmarked with a special Iowa State Fair cancellation.
