State Patrol focuses on I-80 today

If you travel along Interstate 80 today, chances are you’ll see a patrol car of some sort. State and local law officers are focusing on I-80 today in a saturation project prior to Labor Day. Colonel Robert Garrison leads the Iowa State Patrol and says they’re trying to get people to slow down. They’ll also look for drunk and drugged drivers.Garrison says they hope to get people thinking early about safe driving.Garrison says Nebraska and Illinois state police are joining Iowa in the effort. An extra 35 Iowa troopers will be on the road today along with local and county officers.
