Iowa First Lady Christie Vilsack Friday introduced a cookbook with recipes from all over Iowa. Over 900 Iowans entered recipes, and nearly 200 made it into the “Fresh From Terrace Hill” cookbook. Some of the profits from the book will be used to purchase a CD-ROM virtual tour of the Terrace Hill governor’s mansion as an educational tool for children.Vilsack says the cookbook includes stories that tie family, food, and tradition together. The Iowa recipes include some favorites from Iowa’s first family. Vilsack says the recipes are also multicultural, featuring German, Swedish, Irish, Norwegian, and Southeast Asian foods. The cookbook is now on sale for 25 dollars at most local bookstores.
