The Iowa Department of Natural Resources plans to offer spring workshops to help businesses develop environmental plans. Jeff Fiagle of the D-N-R’s Waste Reduction Assistance Program says they’ll focus on what’re called Environmental Management Systems or E-M-S. He says they hope to help businesses manage environmental issues the same way they manage their own business. It’s a tool to make sure a business stays in-line with meeting environmental regulations. Fiagle says an E-M-S should be a permanent development plan. The workshops will be held from February through April.
